This project is one that I undertook in the thick of winter. I had approx a dozen buildings to photograph in Wellington and Auckland with a tight turnaround. The images were to be used for a new website for NABERSNZ. This project was completed over six weeks with all the Auckland buildings shot over 4 days. I had to produce a series of images that showed consistency and had a similar style and feel to the Kapiti Coast District Council photograph below:
Getting light like this is hard to plan for. I have four different weather apps and three different photography apps that I use for planning my architectural shoots, and even then there is still more than a little bit of luck involved. A few of these images were taken on rainy days in between showers. Although the winter light is a fickle beast, when it works it can be incredible. Persistence is key!
Below are my favourite photographs from the shoot. Enjoy!
